To encourage youth to start saving early, while learning the ins and outs of depositing money, collecting interest and saving for their future, Sunrise Credit Union created a campaign to grow new members through the HeadStart account called The Great Bicycle Giveaway Contest. The overall objective was acquisition of new account holders and increasing deposits into HeadStart accounts. The objectives of campaign were designed to encourage multiple deposits into the account by offering an incentive on each deposit, the possibility of winning a bicycle. (Sunrise would pay $250 towards the purchase of a new bicycle) The Great Bicycle Giveaway Contest announcement gained a reach of 5,324 on Facebook with 41 shares and 413 engagements. The campaign itself brought in 43 new HeadStart Accounts and a balance increase of $274,318 in new deposits.
