Local Legends

Community and connection were more important than ever as we navigated through COVID-19 together. And no one’s as invested in the well-being of our communities and our future as much as our local businesses – they’re the driving force behind our communities and our economy. Local is our greatest strength - when we support local, we’re building a better future for Alberta.

Our local business members were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we saw an opportunity to support them, while driving awareness of our small business and agriculture products with our Local Legends campaign. The campaign shared the stories of connectFirst’s valued business members, our “Local Legends,” which celebrated their contributions and accomplishments, while highlighting connectFirst’s contributions to their success.

Facebook and our in-branch digital screens were a key component of our marketing strategy and were our most effective tactic at driving traffic to our website (web traffic increased by 23%) and encouraging community engagement. The Local Legends we highlighted were key community figures, and the campaign brought a great sense of pride to the communities we serve who saw their Local Legends being celebrated. Our Local Legends campaign allowed us to show Albertans, especially our business members, that we’ve got their back. connectFirst is rooted in positively impacting the communities we live, work and thrive in. We’re there for our neighbours in good times and bad. When our members succeed - we succeed. That’s the credit union difference.
