You Know You're Home When... Social Media Marketing

From the outset, we designed this photo contest to engage community on all levels. We included a voting component to encourage entrants to share with their social networks. To drive daily web traffic, we set voting at once every 24 hours. We actively shared entries on our Facebook page, and utilized the content to engage audiences via printed collateral. We expanded on photo contest submissions and generated stories and columns for Vision’s blog, sharing rich stories about people and places in our communities in a way that only a local could. This content reflected the kind of cooperative values and community connection that rings true in small towns and they've been some of our most popular stories to date. The contest culminated with the creation of a limited edition wall calendar featuring 12 of the top photo submissions. This was used as a giveaway at International Credit Union Day branch events.
